Dynamic Range

All about dynamics in music. Here I compare different dynamic ranges (cd, vinyl, cassette,...)

What is dynamic? An answer to this question. Let's simplify it a little bit.

Think about a silent tone which abruptly transforms into a very loud tone. In-between is that little space which I call "air". The measurement takes a look on this little space for the whole song and gives us different DR (Dynamic Range) numbers. You will see a difference from an analogue material or a digital material in a few seconds.

I love it when music lives. From silent parts to loud parts or vice versa.

The red ones are not recommended, orange for medium ones which is okay for me and the green ones are for excellent or recommended stuff. I prefer green :)

Please follow the link to my ripped audio material. Each song gets a different DR range.

DR album stands for the whole DR ranges of the album. This means it depends on the DR's of each song.
